Photos, etc. of the first homestay event
Malaysian Students Study Abroad Japan

Thanks to the great popularity of the previous event, this time around, 34 Malaysian students came out to the Makuhari bay-town.
I was very happy to see the excitement in everyone’s eyes! 18 host families came out for the 2 days-and-1 night short homestay experience. The homestay families attended the halal study session and well equipped themselves for this event. The photo is taken right before the students heading over to their respective homestay families.

This is their second day. The students enjoyed spending time with the children at Mirai nursery school (same place as last time) by engaging in Japanese traditional games. They will be saying goodbye to the host families at this point. Although it was only 1 night stay, their goodbyes were in tears since they were able to establish a lasting memory during this short yet fulfilling time.

They were able to experience shuji, takeuma, and wearing of kimono. Even though it was their first try, they did such a good job in writing kanji! Their hands are soaked with black shuji ink.

The arrival of lunch time signaled the end of this fun and successful homestay event. A small gift of “kazari-maki-sushi” was handed out to the Malaysian students and teachers♪ Everyone loved the gift! The sushi was of course made through halal style.
Afterwards, they all went for a sightseeing of Tokyo. I hope they enjoy it a lot!
