Last month I told you that you can purchase Halal souvenirs at Haneda Airport, and this month I would like to introduce a souvenir sales area at Narita Airport. It is called ANA FESTA, and is located on the fourth floor departures area in the terminal 2 building. Why don’t you check in and drop by there before proceeding to immigration.

After checking in on the third floor in the terminal 2 building, take this escalator to the fourth floor. On your left is the “Tentei”, the Halal tempura restaurant I introduced in an earlier column. You can find “ANA FESTA” on your right.

You will see Books Sanseido bookstore when you reach the fourth floor via the escalator. ANA FESTA is just a little further ahead.

At ANA FESTA you will see a wide lineup of souvenirs for sale. Tokyo Banana probably stands out the most, it seems to be very popular with foreign tourists. However, it is not Halal product. Now, let’s have a look inside the store.

*Tokyo Banana is not Halal product.

There is a Made in Japan Halal area next to the cash register. The mascot for the adjacent products, an electric bowing Maiko (apprentice geisha), serves as a guide.

The products for sale include Tokyo Arare (red pepper and seaweed) and Muso castella cake (matcha, honey, and brown sugar).

Muso castella cake is only available in matcha at Haneda Airport, but three flavors are sold here at Narita Airport.

It is also your last chance to purchase the Tokyo Arare sold at the Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) of Asakusa if you missed out earlier

By the way, if you purchase 1,000 yen or more worth of goods (including tax) at once at ANA FESTA and pay by ANA CARD, you can receive a 10% discount. Ask your Japanese friends seeing you off at the airport if they have an ANA CARD!
