National Donburi Summit in Beppu was held on September 12th and 13th in Oita Prefecture, which is known as the number one Prefecture in Japan for their hot springs, where we, staffs from SEKAICAFE, sold HALAL sirloin steak donburi and samurai ramen. Fahari, an Indonesian student at Ritsumeikan APU, also helped in selling the food as a local staff.
They sold 1000 bowls of donburi in two days, which was the most ever sold, and sold out before the scheduled closing time.

Why were we able to sell so many donburis in Beppu, and not Tokyo?
There is a Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, APU for short, in Beppu City of Oita Prefecture, in which approximately 3000 among approximately 6000 students are international students, with great International environment. In Beppu City, where people with different religions and culture live together, HALAL is well understood with many Muslims living in the city, and we believe that such factors contributed to information spreading fast through SNS and word of mouth.
There was a memorable scene that I experienced.
A Japanese student from APU came to try the Sirloin steak don along with a family of international student from Morocco, they said, “This was the only place we can have anything,” and I fully realized that even in such large-scale events, food that Muslims can have without worries are not being .offered or such information are not discharged, making many restaurants out of consideration as a choice.
I was able to realize that because of such present state, there is significance in SEKAICAFE taking an initiative in opening stores in these events to satisfy many Muslims.
SEKAICAFE would like to keep opening stores at these events such that many Muslim and Japanese people can enjoy delicious food together with a smile.
